Explore the historic Erie Canal today! Paddle your way towards Lock33, wade in our Turning Pond, float alongside the Sam Patch, or take the thrilling adventure through Lock32 and head into Pittsford for food, drinks, and more! Single and double kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and canoes available!

(We stop taking rentals at 5:30 and watercraft must be back by closing time at 7:00pm)

Shorter Trip (1.5 Miles)

Lock 32 offers direct access to the canal on the flatwater between Locks 33 and 32 including the pond in the Canal Park. A leisurely paddle to Lock 33 and back takes ~1.5 HRS (Approx. 1.5 Miles).

Longer Trips (3.2 Miles)

If you prefer a longer paddle consider a trip through historic Lock 32 and continue on towards the Village of Pittsford. The lower section below Lock 32 opens access to around 25 miles of flatwater. Schoen Place is 1.6 miles from Lock 32. Bushnells Basin is 4.3 miles from Lock 32. Fairport is 8.5 miles from Lock 32. You can contact the Lock 32 operator at 585-586-1837 during operating hours. Check canal hours prior to departure and plan your return accordingly. TIMING TIP: The Erie Canal flows towards Fairport from Lock 32, your return trip will take 1.5 - 2 times as long as your trip down.
